LEAD ACCOUNTANT

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

KBR is seeking a Lead Accountant on to be based out of our Edmonton office. Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

 

 

·          Provide leadership to the accounting project teams and assist them with project reporting.

·          Ensure projects are staffed with the correct accounting and finance staff at the start of each project and that the company policies are followed for billing, time keeping and internal controls.

·          Continued supervision and development of the accounting team throughout the duration of the project

·          Provide forecast (revenue, job income, cash flow) support to Project Management as required

·          Prepare quarterly forecasts and outlooks for the Canadian Operations

·          Assist in preparing the annual budget for Canada by meeting with department heads and reviewing anticipated needs

·          Provide backup to Senior Manager, Accounting & Finance, Manager Tax, and Accounting & Finance Manager as required.

·          Review project reports and use analytical skills to investigate and explain unexpected variances

·          Liaise with contracts department to ensure projects are billing per the terms of the contract

·          Relies upon experience, interpersonal skills, and broad knowledge of field to ensure task completion in compliance with policies, procedures, and business strategy.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

· Candidates must be able and willing to travel to project sites and locations in Fort McMurray and Edmonton

· Possess either a CA (Chartered Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation

· An undergraduate degree. Equivalencies may be considered.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience. Relevant industry experience preferred

· Strong attention to detail in a fast paced work environment

· Excellent MS Office skills

· Oracle experience an asset
