SPECIALIST, QUANTITY SURVEYING (FORT MCMURRAY)

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

KBR is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Estimating Coordinator to be based at our Edmonton location. Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

· Understand project contracts as related to billing

· Coordinate with operations to obtain and organize drawings

· Monitors progress within construction projects by measuring and evaluating installed quantities on a project against the plan.

· Metrics include exposure to cost benefit analysis.

· Value engineering, and feasibility studies pertaining to work, labor, and materials needed.

· Responsibilities include quantity tracking, forecasting, estimate loading, and MTO updating from IFC drawings for progress measurement.

· Work closely with other team members to ensure timely and accurate project billing

· Review sub-contractor invoices

· Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within project controls.

 

REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum of an undergraduate degree and 2 years of experience. Equivalencies will be considered.

· Self-motivated with a willingness to learn

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, vlookup, pivot tables)

· Work in a team environment

· Ability to read isometric drawings

· Pipe fabrication/engineering experience an asset

 

This position is located on a project site working a 14 days on, 7 days off rotation. Camp Accommodation and a travel allowance will be provided to those that live outside of the Fort McMurray area.
